GENERAL
The Alabama Administrative Office of Courts (AOC) is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals to fill a vacancy in the class of AOC INFO SYSTEMS SUPP SPEC II (01753) for AOC. Applications for this position will be accepted until Friday, April 16, 2021 at 5:00 PM.

WORK SETTING


        This is applied technical work in data and voice systems and installation.  Employees are responsible for the planning, coordination, installation, and maintenance of varied and complex personal computer systems.  Work involves performing technical systems activities including participating in planning and administration of local/wide area networks and coordinating system repairs.  Employees in this class will also analyze, develop, design, modify, implement, and/or maintain local/wide area networks.  Work also involves meeting with vendors and users to assess available resources for providing equipment and services that will fulfill agency and user needs.  Work is performed under the general supervision of the IT Director, the unit supervisor or designee.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS
  • Knowledge of telecommunications principles, hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of digital and analog, voice and data, broad band, T-span communications, fiber, wiring, wireless communications and media and facilities.
  • Ability to configure routers, hubs, switches, and multiplexers.
  • Ability to install, configure and support Windows Operating Systems and Office365.
  • Ability to learn and implement third-party applications and solutions as required in complex situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and users, and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities and assignments.
  • Ability to logically analyze a problem and provide alternatives for their resolution.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to travel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to:

        

        Graduation from a standard senior high school, supplemented by experience in information systems, project management, training, or other technology project related experience; plus two (2) years networking experience in IT, MIS, and an occupation evidencing experience directly relating to LAN/WAN telecommunications planning and network design.
